Brows For The Culture 🖤
Client FAQs
What are ombré brows?
Ombre powder brow is a permanent makeup technique that gives you very soft and natural results. It’s done using a small tattoo pen and sterilized needles to create light misty fronts that transition into darker tails. They are smudge proof, sweat proof, and waterproof and last a lifetime with an annual touchup. A touchup session is required 4 weeks after the initial procedure to perfect the brows. This technique differs from microblading by depositing tiny dots in your skin rather than cutting into the skin with a blade to deposit hair strokes which is more invasive and can cause scarring.

What can I do to prepare for the appointment?
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and pain killers 24 hour prior to the appointment. These substances thin out the blood and heighten sensitivity which causes scarring and makes the procedure more painful.
Do I need to groom my brows before the appointment?
It is not necessary! Any hairs outside of the outline are removed after the shape has been established.
Should I come in with or without makeup?
Either or is fine. If there is a specific shape and color that you would like the artist to see, then come in with the desired brow shape. If not, come in without makeup because the brow area will be wiped and cleaned before the procedure.
What will my brows look like?
Results will vary! Factors that contribute to varying results include skin type, brow bone, pores, amount of brow hair or lack thereof, and thickness of the brow hair.

Does it Hurt?
There may be slight discomfort during the first few minutes because we outline without numbing but the level of discomfort is very minimal to mild. We use a topical anesthetic therefore discomfort is minimized.
Do I need a touch up?
Yes! Every new set of brows requires two sessions to achieve the desired results. After only one session, patchiness can be expected.
How long should I wait to get a touch up?
At least 4 weeks after the initial procedure, but no later than 6 weeks after.
Do I still have to get my eyebrows done once they heal?
Yes. If you grow brow hair outside of your new brow shape, you will need to go in only for maintenance only using your choice of wax, threading, or tweezing. No shaping needed!
After the first touch up, how often should I come in?
An annual touch-up is recommended.
Is it really a 5 hour procedure?
It’s possible that we can hit the five hour mark, or go under/over. Please keep in mind that this is a permanent tattoo on your face and your artist would like to ensure that you leave with gorgeous brows! Please refrain from scheduling a tight schedule on your appointment day.
Can I get a touch-up if another artist did my brows?
At this time, The Brow Barbie does not offer this service.
